Leoncino 800 Trail od wersji drogowej, czyli Lenocino 800, odróżnia wysoko poprowadzony wydech, większy o 10 mm skok obu zawieszeń, większa o 18 mm wysokość siedzenia, która w tym modelu wynosi 818 mm i szprychowane obręcze kół.

Włoscy styliści zrobili tu świetną robotę. W zasadzie o stylistyce wystarczy napisać „włoscy styliści” i na tym zakończyć.

Silnik jest sprawdzoną konstrukcją, identyczną dla obu wersji Leoncino 800. Jest to rzędowa krótkoskokowa dwójka o czopach wału przestawionych o 90 stopni. Przy czym średnica cylindra wynosi aż 88 mm przy skoku tłoka jedynie 62 mm. Stopień sprężania 11,5, a więc silnik dość wysilony.

Maksymalna moc 76 KM rozwijana jest przy 9 000 obr./min. Moment wynoszący 67 Nm osiągany jest przy 6500 obr./min. Czerwone pole na obrotomierzu zaczyna się przy 11 000 obr./min! Masy zamachowe wału korbowego są bardzo niewielkie.

Z przodu wałek wyrównoważający, a w części tylnej smarowana w jednym obiegu sześciostopniowa skrzynia i napędzane kołami zębatymi sprzęgło. Wał korbowy posadzony jest w łożyskach ślizgowych (na panewkach) , co umożliwia poziomy podział kadłuba silnika.

Drobno zestopniowana sześciostopniowa skrzynia i wyraźnie działający bębenkowy mechanizm zmieniacza zapewniają ostrą zabawę.
Rama Leo 800 Trail przypomina konstrukcję mostu. Masywna, przestrzenna kratownica biegnie po samym brzegu wzdłuż obrysu zbiornika paliwa w przedniej części łącząc się w główce ramy a w tylnej w dwóch masywnych odkówkach w których umieszczono oś tylnego wahacza.

Z przodu „widelec” upside-down o średnicy rur nośnych 50 mm. Z tyłu wahacz wsparty na pojedynczym, przesuniętym w prawą stronę amortyzatorze o pełnej regulacji.
W Leoncino 800 zakres dostępnej mocy znacznie wykracza poza zakres odwagi wielu motocyklistów.

Otoczony kontrolkami kolorowy wyświetlacz na który przy każdym starcie wbiega rozpędzony lew. To spektakl który trzeba zobaczyć. Kiedy już zniknie lew, na wyświetlaczu pojawi się dominujący obrotomierz z zerem pośrodku skali, cyfrowy prędkościomierz i „bębenkowo” przeskakujący wskaźnik włączonego biegu.
